I attended The Forum Show at my daughter’s high school last night. This was probably my last big event to attend at this school, besides my girl’s graduation in May. We’ve been connected with MVHS for ten years now, since our oldest started his Freshman year. This is a bittersweet life passage we are experiencing, but it was a great way to wrap up our years there.
The Forum Show is sponsored by the MVHS yearbook and is a talent show mixed with a pageant. A variety of students sing, dance, deliver skits and comedic acts all while part of the pageantry of junior and senior couples in ball gowns and tuxes, with a queen as well. I’m utterly impressed with the talent of
these students, their courage and creativity.
This is a testament to why public schools need to support the arts and continue teaching them as a part of the regular curriculum.
It was a blessing and joy to take in this fantastic night at MVHS. I will miss these types of events and the way the MV community supports their youth.
